Paseo de la Castellana Madrid

I would like to visit Paseo de la Castellana while visiting Madrid. This is where Madrid's financial district is located. Here you will find hotels, Santander's headquarters, and the famous Santiago Bernabeu stadium which is home of the Real Madrid soccer team.

Financial District London

While in London I would like to visit Financial District, better known as "The City" or "Square Mile". Here you will find the London Stock Exchange, Bank of England, Baltic Exchange, as well as the famous Gherkin, among other buildings that are crucial to England's economy.

 

Financial District is widely known for its architecture, with it's vast variety of modern skyscrapers. Square Mile sits on the northern side of River Thames and is about ten minutes walking distance from the London Bridge.

Madrid

While in Madrid I want to try to go to the National Archeological Musuem; Museo Arqueologico Nacional. http://www.man.es/man.home/html.

While in Madrid...

I'm planning on visiting Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Cibeles, Gran Via, and I'm hoping to be able to attend El Rastro: the oldest flea market in Madrid.

Plaza Mayor has been used for bullfights, soccer games, public executions and markets in the past, but is now one of the biggest tourist attractions in Madrid. They also have a ring of old and historic shops and cafes that seem like a pretty good time.

Plaza de Cibeles is a city landmark of Madrid that is well-known for its marble sculptures and fountains that have become symbolic monuments for the city over the years, but is most importantly famous for the Cibeles Palace which is also Madrid's city hall. 

Gran Via is a shopping street in central Madrid that is actually a few minutes away from Plaza de Cibeles. It is known as the "the street that never sleeps" and "one of the streets with more nightlife in Europe." It is famous for its hotels, movie theaters and most importantly, its beautiful architecture. 

Last but not least, El Rastro is known to be Madrid's oldest flea market. Here one can find second-hand clothing, vinyl records, jewelry, etc. Along the sides of the street where the the flea market is held are other antique shops one can visit as well. Unfortunately, the flea market is only held on Sundays. It is also best to make it out early in the morning to avoid a bigger crowd later on in the day.

Things to do in London

Hey, guys! Here's a list of the best music shops in London for all you music lovers in our group. They all seem to have a great variety of music in their shops, so it was pretty hard to just choose one. If anyone is interested, maybe we can go check some out while we're there.

Potential Activities in the United Kingdom

     Disregard my previous post about Lucky's sweets, they recently closed their doors as an exclusively online shop.

     In addition, I know I am personally interested in seeing The Doctor Who Experience located in Cardiff, Wales. For fans of the fifty year-old British science fiction series, this exhibit celebrates the show's rich history that has inspired the imagination of viewers for over half a century. Highlights include some of the show's most famous monsters, with Daleks, Cybermen, Weeping Angels, and Sontarans, as well as the Doctor's famous time machine, the TARDIS, an eccentric "ship" that outwardly resembles a 1950's police box that is significantly bigger on the inside. So if you love the show or wish to see Wales, it might be worth looking into ways to travel as well as look into tickets at:

     Alternatively, it could be productive for each of us to look into universities in London and Spain for future study abroad opportunities. It is something I intend to look up later this week in terms of tours we can embark on within these cities.

ok so Sydney and I (Anahi) want to go to a Harry Potter tour during London.
