Very Excited!!

One more day guys.. it's only tomorrow and then we are off!! <3

Most of you guys have already posted what I had in mind but I just wanted to drop off these sites (although I think they might be posted already) but these are great ideas of things to do in both London and Madrid!

London: http://www.timeout.com/london/things-to-do/101-things-to-do-in-london

Madrid: http://www.timeout.com/madrid/things-to-do/20-great-things-to-do-in-madrid

Madrid!

I found really cool things to do on all levels. Specifically for people who are the adventurous type you can do: Parapark, Routes & Adventures, and Danco Aventura.
Nightlife: Vinicola Mentridana, Marula, La Pinta, La Trocha, Las Tablas, La Venencia, and Sauna Puerta de Toledo.
So I know a lot of us like to shop, so on this website: http://www.10best.com/destinations/spain/madrid/shopping/ they have the following best places.

While in Madrid...

I'm planning on visiting Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Cibeles, Gran Via, and I'm hoping to be able to attend El Rastro: the oldest flea market in Madrid.

Plaza Mayor has been used for bullfights, soccer games, public executions and markets in the past, but is now one of the biggest tourist attractions in Madrid. They also have a ring of old and historic shops and cafes that seem like a pretty good time.

Plaza de Cibeles is a city landmark of Madrid that is well-known for its marble sculptures and fountains that have become symbolic monuments for the city over the years, but is most importantly famous for the Cibeles Palace which is also Madrid's city hall.

Gran Via is a shopping street in central Madrid that is actually a few minutes away from Plaza de Cibeles. It is known as the "the street that never sleeps" and "one of the streets with more nightlife in Europe." It is famous for its hotels, movie theaters and most importantly, its beautiful architecture.

Last but not least, El Rastro is known to be Madrid's oldest flea market. Here one can find second-hand clothing, vinyl records, jewelry, etc. Along the sides of the street where the the flea market is held are other antique shops one can visit as well. Unfortunately, the flea market is only held on Sundays. It is also best to make it out early in the morning to avoid a bigger crowd later on in the day.

Pixar Exhibition and Other Events in Madrid

I saw this exhibit in Madrid, and I know several of my friends would hate me if I didn't visit this exhibit which will soon be closing, and for four Euros, you simply cannot go wrong. A celebration of 25 Years of Animation, this exhibit showcases how Pixar has revolutionized this genre through the digital scope that has become virtually synonymous with the 21st century. Through this innovation, Pixar has enamored the hearts of children, adults, and critics alike, a history which serves as the highlight of this exhibit of models, storyboards.going in depth into one of the most successful animation studios of all time. You can find out more on the link below:

This nifty site (that's in English, too, no less) tells you exactly what is happening in Madrid on our free day. For more information, here is a full list of events happening in Madrid for the 20th, for quick and easy reference if anyone is interested:

Hey, guys! Here's a list of the best music shops in London for all you music lovers in our group. They all seem to have a great variety of music in their shops, so it was pretty hard to just choose one. If anyone is interested, maybe we can go check some out while we're there.

http://www.timeout.com/london/music/londons-best-music-shops

I also found a list of City Farms in London that include petting zoos which would be pretty cool as well. I mean, who doesn't love animals?! Most of them are free too! So why not?

Attractions, street art, clubs

This website talks about cool attractions like the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace!
http://travel.usnews.com/London_England/Things_To_Do/

The following are found on http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g186338-Activities-c25-London_England.html ***I'd really look at this website because it has night and daytime activities broken up, along with other cool stuff!
  • The Shoreditch Street Art Tours is really interesting for any of you who would be interested in seeing the street art around Shoreditch London.
  • There's another called Alternative London Tours described as: Discover the London you won't find in the guide books with London's original off-the-beaten-track tour provider! Come with us to explore the culture, creativity and community of London's vibrant East End. We offer unique and original walking tours and bike tours, an Alternative London shopping experience and a combined street art tour and workshop led by those who know the scene best - the artists. Voted London's Number 1 Pub Crawl (on Tripadvisor), London Gone Wild runs unforgettable nights out in London's coolest areas for tourists and locals alike 7 nights a week. Valued at over £50, you can grab tickets on our website starting from as little as £10. Our main parties are in the West End and Shoreditch. Check out our website for more info!

Potential Activities in the United Kingdom

Disregard my previous post about Lucky's sweets, they recently closed their doors as an exclusively online shop.

In addition, I know I am personally interested in seeing The Doctor Who Experience located in Cardiff, Wales. For fans of the fifty year-old British science fiction series, this exhibit celebrates the show's rich history that has inspired the imagination of viewers for over half a century. Highlights include some of the show's most famous monsters, with Daleks, Cybermen, Weeping Angels, and Sontarans, as well as the Doctor's famous time machine, the TARDIS, an eccentric "ship" that outwardly resembles a 1950's police box that is significantly bigger on the inside. So if you love the show or wish to see Wales, it might be worth looking into ways to travel as well as look into tickets at:
http://www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk/
http://www.doctorwhoexperience.com/

Alternatively, it could be productive for each of us to look into universities in London and Spain for future study abroad opportunities. It is something I intend to look up later this week in terms of tours we can embark on within these cities.

Let me all know what you think about these ideas, or how better to implement them into our current itinerary.
